Of all the revelations during Harry's first weeks at Hogwarts this was the most profound: his parents had been Wizards, well-loved, smart, and beautiful. It's been a wild and wonderful combined Snarry Games, and I can't believe we are already more than halfway now. I haven't slowed down long enough to make any reccs, so it's time for a few now, and more to come.

Having fic and art every day is really wonderful, I must say! The art gives me time to get caught up with reading (almost), and it's fascinating to see the art that begins to call forth a story, and the magical fics that cry out for art. There is so much good stuff here, people!  (Ven has idea... files away for later.)

a wonderful animatic, accompanied by moody piano accompaniament, with the flavor of a real silent film. Who among you are either old enough or media-savvy enough to know the halting, minimalist quality of the silent melodrama? This vid is rich in that, as well as a lovely Snape with nose and hair to please the purist, confronted by his great love, and challenged to be true.


Heroes by chaeche 

aka Akemi42, this master vidder rewrites DH to the tune of the perfect Snarry song. I swooned to Bowie performing this live more than once, and this brings it all back. Together, Snape and Harry defeat the Dark Lord.

a magical take on Persephone and Hades, this painting has a stained-glass quality of intensity, and a wonderful intimacy. The Persephone myth seems well suited to Snarry here, and Harry experiences his beautiful dark underworld lover.


Into the Light by Jin_fenghuang

The definition of bittersweet, and canon too. Harry visits the mirror or Erised longing for what he might have known, and chooses to love.

There is something about this innocent sleeping Harry that really gets to me, his alluring vulnerability and sweetness is so beautiful. The stark technique really amps the mood here.

1. Happy Canada Day!   J'adore notre voisin au nord!  I was privelaged to grow up on the Ste. Clair River which forms the US/Canada border, and have many lovely memories of Ontario. If nothing else, the place names are wonderful: Tobermory, Lake Coochiching, the River Snye, Wallaceburg, the Big Basset, Missasaugua, Thorold, Pentangueshine, Guelph. I raise my virtual Molsen's to you, O Canada. But it definately tastes better when you drink it 'in country'.

2. Don't forget to check out the Percy_ficathon, now posting on LJ and IJ. There's fic! There's art! **wink**

3. Same goes for NextGenDarkFest, over on LJ. My gift just posted, a dark and twisted ghost story wherein Lily Potter & Rose Weasley get in trouble in the Forbidden Forest.

4. In need of good 'foundation garments' for my Sprout costume, I braved the mall today in search of bras, etc. and scored well at a 'buy 2 get 2 free' sale. I loathe shopping, so I was pleased to bag my quarry so easily. New undies, woot! and a surprise cool black vest that has costumey potential.

I have receiived the the Golden Squid Award for Wildest Chase and Eventual Capture of the Rabid Plot Bunny from hp_April_Fools!!!!

Fool #22 (that's me!) wrote  "Abuse of Power Comes as No Surprise",  for </a></b></a>synn.

Now, synn is a wonderful writer, so of course I was intimidated. Then I was mugged by a plot bunny big enough for a feature film and three sequels. I did manage to write about 5000 words of it, but be forewarned, this is a WIP, and although I have written more and have a sort of outline, it's not likely to see the light of day any time soon.

and, I have been waiting, watching wizard_love  for my gift, and it has arrived!!!  It's a wonderful romance that ends up quite satisfying for all concerned, but especially Ginny. I'd asked to pair her with Neville or Draco... after all, it's important that Harry be unentangled so he can properly bond with Snape! But there's no sense in Ginevra being miserable, now, is there? This is a charming, interesting and well told tale, that brings me closer to both Neville and Ginny.
