Founders Gifts Masterlist and art
The Founder's Gifts comm on LJ posted the masterlist today.
Here is the drawing and ficlet I made for it:
"Breaking Ground for Hogwarts" Title: Breaking Ground for Hogwarts Gift for: EVERYONE! Artist: venturous Characters: Godric, Helga, Rowena, Salazar Rating: G Warnings: shirtless men, stony ground Genres: gen Artist's Notes: I learned a lot researching 10th century Scots costume, namely, that attire was perfunctory and primitive in those early days, not the elaborate and generic 'medieval' one finds at say, Ren Faires. I looked at costuming for many a Macbeth, about the right time and place, and decided on basic roman-inspired garb that that could be readily made by the home seamstress.
Thanks be to the artists who made my figures possible: Salazar inspired by a drawing by Francesco Primaticcio. Godric's torso from a drawing by Tiepolo, and Helga and Rowena from a sketch by Mantegna
(there is a wee ficlet after the art)

Life is rich, and moving too damn fast
**waves hello** I have another busy weekend with house guests, but it's the first weekend in months I havent been on fandom deadline, and I am relieved, but also a little sad, and I miss being here. I am falling so far behind in reading, that I am looking forward to weeks in the hammock on sultry days soaking up the HD Cup and HDS Beltane fics I haven't been able to get to.
So, a recap: (cut for self-pimping list of fandom achievements this spring, since I have to convince myself I haven't been lazy! *g*)

My Eileen Prince fic
I wrote A Good Wizarding Family for hp_beholder, a wonderful new fest that yielded lots of interesting fic and art. Many thanks to bethbethbeth for getting so much good love for the oft neglected characters.
I had a great time struggling with this, as an artist who has the occasional writerly impulse, I am now even more in awe of all you lovely writers. I am brewing some further Eileen plot bunnies, as she an I have become friends in the process. She wants me to draw her, as well!
Comments, concrit, and questions cheerfully accepted!

Drabble: Not Afraid of Ghosts
for snarry100, (actually written as the beginning of comment porn, for Dacro's Snarry games interview) Challenge 100: Free for All: Touch Title: Not Afraid of Ghosts Author: venturous Word count: 100 Rating: PG Warnings: ghost!Snape, blood (a teeny bit!) Disclaimer: JKR owns the Potterverse – I just play in it. No money is made from these amateur works. Summary: Harry visits Snape's grave. to be continued
Although it wasn’t cold in the fogbound cemetery, Harry shivered. He approached Snape’s headstone with a sense of dread, feeling silly for being afraid. As he stepped onto the grave, a tendril of cold mist crept up his pantleg.
The sensation curled around his thigh. He felt a presence behind him, and a breath gusted in his ear: "Hhhharrrry..." It was a salacious, resonant whisper.
He jumped, dropping the blood-red roses, piercing his finger in the process. He spun around, and saw... no one. With a nervous laugh, he said aloud "what’s with me, anyway? I’m not afraid of ghosts."
