plenty of grrrr and angst this week:

• a wretched cold, now thankfully just a sniffle;
• my work Mac rolled over dead during routine maintenance
• requiring days of reloading stuff
• and lost music downloads :(
• the family lawsuit heats up and Ven needs to cough up money. **scowl**
• an awfully lot of dear friends, around the planet, are coping with difficult and painful family crises.

• fall is here, big time, with lovely leaves and beautiful days
• the new Mac is screaming fast and bright :D
• the US Presidential election will soon be over!!! **nailbiting hopefully optomistic**
• I completed (at last!) my snarry_holidays and hp_darkfest art.
• I had art post recently at another fest (**cough* hd_fanart on LJ**cough**) cant tell you when....
• I love my dogs!
• and my friends: case in point, lovely CrowFly made dinner last night and wrote while I arted. **is loved**
• and,my snarry_games art went up!! I am in comment-slut heaven, and gosh darn, people like it! it's especially pleasing that the author of the fic that I illustrated was really thrilled. **does happy creative dance**

artist's notes: If not for snapeartcontest I would not be here today. Seriously, ArtPad was one of my first forays into computer art that wasn't work-related. Making silly Snapey paintings with that cumbersome tool was great fun, and I felt welcomed into the fandom and had a great time.
the_bitter_word  has announced her retirement from the asylum, and this is my parting gift. The title pretty much says the rest.

I learned a lot researching 10th century Scots costume, namely, that attire was perfunctory and primitive in those early days, not the elaborate and generic 'medieval' one finds at say, Ren Faires. I looked at costuming for many a Macbeth, about the right time and place, and decided on basic roman-inspired garb that that could be readily made by the home seamstress.

**waves hello**
I have another busy weekend with house guests, but it's the first weekend in months I havent been on fandom deadline, and I am relieved, but also a little sad, and I miss being here. I am falling so far behind in reading, that I am looking forward to weeks in the hammock on sultry days soaking up the HD Cup and HDS Beltane fics I haven't been able to get to.

So, a recap: (cut for self-pimping list of fandom achievements this spring, since I have to convince myself I haven't been lazy! *g*)

Since finishing my hp_valensmut art I have been lazy in the drawing department, dawdling around fandom reading fic (and *cough* weeping) and chit chatting, but not much drawing action. This week I received my beautiful valensmut art from a talented Mystery Artist, and it is just pure sweet lurve -- exactly what I needed.

So, today I am happy to report that I am sharpening the pencils and getting busy on the next wave of fests:

</a></strong></a>less_for_you   I have a good working sketch for LE/SS, for whom I have been given a giftee whom I REALLY want to impress.

</a></strong></a>hp_wankfest  OMG I chose not one but THREE prompts. What was I thinking? They will be great fun. First one is somewhat figured out. Last one is a fic, I think, and needs an outline. I need to look up the other one.

hds_beltane     I have a great idea and a beginning sketch.

and, still waiting for my </a></strong></a>hpvalensmut submission to post, so I can see how this one performs. I have high hopes for major squeeage. (calm down, Ven!) But still, it's the smuttiest thing I have ever made.   :D

oh, and I am going to register for
hp_beholder , too. and I have a new plot bunny tickling me into churning out words, and joined Snarry100 on LJ.

No wonder I don't sleep!
